About This Site
The Island Packet Resource
A community-built reference for Island Packet owners, buyers, and enthusiasts — covering brokers, vendors, parts suppliers, and the sailors who live aboard these boats.
Why We Exist
One Place for the IP Community
Island Packet Yachts has been building offshore cruising sailboats in the USA since 1979. Over four decades and hundreds of hulls, a passionate community of owners has formed around these boats — sharing knowledge, sourcing hard-to-find parts, and helping each other keep their vessels in bluewater condition.
This site exists to serve that community. We are not Island Packet Yachts, Inc. — the manufacturer — nor are we a brokerage or dealer. We are an independent information resource: a place to find brokers who specialize in Island Packets, vendors who stock IP-specific parts, and stories from the sailors who sail them.
Whether you are researching your first Island Packet purchase, looking for a rigger who knows the IP 440 rig, or trying to source a replacement part for a 1990s hull, this is the starting point.
What We Cover
Resources for Every Stage
Brokers & Listings
We track brokers who specialize in Island Packet transactions — people who know the model range, the hull history, and what to look for in a pre-purchase survey.
Parts & Suppliers
Island Packets use specific hardware, rigging, and systems. We maintain a directory of vendors who stock IP-compatible parts and can source hard-to-find components.
Service & Refit
From haul-outs to full refits, we connect owners with yards and technicians experienced with Island Packet construction and systems.
Owner Stories
The best information about these boats comes from the people who sail them. We publish voyage logs, refit reports, and owner perspectives from across the Island Packet fleet.
